McDATA® SphereonTM 4400 Switch
The McDATA® SphereonTM 4400 is a 16-port switch that is ideal for a range of entry-level to mid-range applications including the creation of a simple, entry level SAN. It starts from a base of 8 ports and grows in 4-port increments using McDATA FlexPortTM technology. A full-featured Fibre Channel switch in a half-rack width configuration, the McDATA Sphereon 4400 is designed to provide high performance with 4 Gb/sec non-blocking bandwidth on every port with the ability to auto-negotiate to 2 Gb/sec and 1 Gb/sec to protect existing investments. The McDATA Sphereon 4400 continues to offer the premium features and options that McDATA switches are known for including:
- FlexPortTM connectivity-on-demand - allows for affordable and non-disruptive additions to port capacity.
- HotCAT® (Hot Code Activation Technology) - provides non-disruptive loading and activation of code upgrades and feature enhancements.
- EFCM Basic (formerly SANpilotTM ) software - offers integrated, browser-based management tool for easy, intuitive control of Sphereon switches and small fabrics.
- Integration with the industry broadest array of management applications including Enterprise Fabric Connectivity Manager (EFCM).
- SANtegrityTM Security Suite software allows customers to help protect data and securely manage access to their SANs.
