The 3490 series M2483H/HD (rackmount) 18 track drive and M2485H/HD/H1/HD1 (desktop) 18 track drive are half inch cartridge tape drives with 3480, 3490 compatibility, offering leading mainframe technology for data interchange and backup to workstations and other advanced computer platforms.

- Supported by Fujitsu"s enhanced data recording capability (EDRC), the data recording method is compatible with IBM"s improved data recording capability (IDRC)
