The T10000 tape cartridge works in tandem with the Sun StorageTek T10000 tape drive and addresses issues related to data growth, security, manageability, and cost. With 500-gigabyte maximum capacity, the T10000 tape cartridge stores more data in the same footprint. And with 2:1 compression, it can store up to one terabyte of data to help meet growing data storage requirements. It’s the perfect solution for high-volume backup, archiving, and disaster recovery applications. A Sport cartridge is also available with 120 MB capacity for use in the T10000 tape drive.

Its unique SafeGuide™ system, in which a unique hub lock stabilizes media within the cartridge shell enhances data protection and extends media durability. Additionally, Sun offers a T10000 VolSafe secure media technology cartridge.
