Sun Netra CP2300 Blade
Telecom customers are transitioning their blade applications to highly configurable building blocks for use in switched fabric networks. A key component of this transition is converting I/O traffic from system buses and protocols to packet buses and protocols. The Netra CP2300 Telecom blade server is the first CompactPCI board from Sun which supports redundant packet I/O over a compact PCI Packet Switched Backplane (cPSB) according to the PICMG 2.16 specification. Now customers can configure a scalable local area network within a 2.16 chassis using Sun's industry-proven SPARC and Solaris platform. And they can manage it in an integrated way using processor-and FRU-level manageability. This combination, along with NEBS Level-3 certification, meets the demanding requirements of telecommunications and network equipment providers.
